Dr. Kachman is an analytical chemist with 17 years of experience in separations science, including three years as a Laboratory Manager at the University of Michigan’s Center for Translational Pathology (MCTP). As the Managing Director of the MRC2, Dr. Kachman's primary responsibilities are to lead the team in systematically acquiring and analyzing a broad array of biological samples and delivering quality metabolomics data for our academic and industry customers. Dr. Kachman is responsible for the day-to-day management of the MRC2 infrastructure and Core personnel. Working with faculty and staff and with MRC2 customers, Dr. Kachman ensures the cost-effective use of resources and the delivery of high quality data, including the modification and development of SOPs for the Cores. She is the point of contact for customers and, along with other Analytical, Data and Information Technology, and Statistics and Bioinformatics Core personnel, devises and coordinates the development of new assays or data analysis techniques in response to customer demand. Along with MRC2 leadership, she oversees customer access and specimen analysis and supervises sample and data flow. She works with the MRC2 administrator, UM Financial Operations and the BRCF to maintain prompt and accurate accounting, appropriate adjustment of recharge rates, ensuring appropriate maintenance of equipment and other infrastructure.
